APN Settings

This chapter explains the Access Point Name (APN) settings for your ATL4500G. These settings are critical for establishing a connection between the device and your cellular carrier's data network.

What is an APN?

An APN (Access Point Name) is the name of a gateway between a cellular data network and the public internet. In simple terms, it tells your device which specific network "door" to use to get online.

Under normal circumstances, your camera will automatically detect and configure the correct APN settings from your SIM card as soon as it is inserted. You should not need to change these settings.

Manual APN Configuration

This settings page is intended for troubleshooting purposes only. You should only attempt to manually configure the APN if you have inserted a valid SIM card with an active data plan, but the device still fails to connect to the internet.

An incorrect APN will prevent the device from accessing the cellular data network.

How to Manually Set the APN

Before you begin, you must contact your SIM card's carrier and ask for their specific APN settings for your device or data plan. They will provide you with the necessary information, which may include:

  • The APN name

  • A Username

  • A Password

  • The Authentication Type (e.g., PAP, CHAP)

Once you have obtained the correct information from your carrier, follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to LTE Mode > APN Settings.

  2. Carefully enter the values provided by your carrier into the corresponding fields on the screen.

  3. Double-check that all information is entered exactly as specified. APN settings are often case-sensitive.

  4. Save the new configuration.

  5. It is highly recommended to reboot the camera after saving the manual APN settings to ensure they are properly applied.

If the device still cannot connect to the internet after you have manually entered and saved the carrier-provided settings, please contact your carrier's technical support for further assistance.
