Camera Management & Security: Keeping Your ATLI Camera Secure

2 min. readlast update: 07.21.2025

If someone else uses the ATLI Cam+ App to scan your camera's QR code and successfully connects, they'll basically take over control of your camera. But, a couple of things have to happen first:

  • They have to use the ATLI Cam+ App to scan the code.
  • They need to be pretty close to the camera – within about 6 feet or so – to connect directly.

How can you tell if someone else has taken over your camera?

If you're the only one managing your camera, and someone else connects, it'll disappear from your camera list. That's how you know someone else is connected.

Sharing Camera Access (Without Losing Admin Control)

Want to let other people use your camera without losing your admin powers? Use the "Share Camera" feature to create a group and share access with people you trust.

You can give them two different levels of access: "Admin" (they can do everything) and "View Only" (they can just watch).

To keep your camera safe and your privacy protected, we recommend doing the following:

  • Check Your Camera List Regularly: Take a look at your camera list every so often to make sure you recognize all the cameras that are connected. If you see one you don't know, kick it off immediately.
  • Keep Your Camera Safe: Don't leave your camera where anyone can just walk up and scan it, like in a public place where nobody's watching.
  • Keep Your ATLI Cam+ App Up-to-Date: Make sure you're running the latest version of the ATLI Camera+ App. That way, you'll have all the newest security fixes.
  • Don't Just Give Away Your QR Code: Don't share your camera's QR code with strangers.
