FAQs
Q: Do I need Wi-Fi to upload footage to Google Drive?
A: Your camera can upload footage as long as it has a stable internet connection. The required connection method depends on your specific model:
-
For ATL3500, ATL4500, E10, and EON (T100): You must connect the camera to a Wi-Fi network.
-
For ATL4500G: You can connect via a Wi-Fi network or by inserting a 4G SIM card directly into the camera’s built-in slot.
Important Note on Data Usage: Uploading 4K time lapse footage can consume a significant amount of data. We strongly recommend performing a short trial run to monitor your data consumption before official deployment to avoid exceeding your data plan limits. Use our Time-lapse Calculator to estimate the data requirements for your specific project before you start.
Q: When will my footage be uploaded to Google Drive?
A: The upload timing depends on your ouput —whether you are capturing Photo Sequences or MP4 Videos.
- Photo Sequences: Photos are uploaded immediately after each shot is captured (provided there is an active internet connection).
- MP4 Videos: A video is only uploaded once the file is finalized (closed). The camera cannot upload a video file while it is still being written to.
Q: When is a video file "finalized" for upload?
The finalization of a video file depends on your shooting mode and settings:
Instant (One-time) Shooting The video file is finalized only when you manually stop the recording. The upload will begin immediately after you end the session.
Scheduled Shooting If you are using a schedule, the upload timing is determined by your selected "Save Method":
| Save Method |
When is it finalized/uploaded? |
| Merge | Only when you manually stop the entire recording. |
| Per Timeslot | At the end of each scheduled time block. (e.g., if you record from 9 AM–11 AM, it uploads at 11 AM). |
| Daily | At the end of the day’s scheduled shooting window. (e.g., if your schedule is 8 AM–5 PM, it uploads at 5 PM). |
| Weekly | At the end of the last scheduled time slot of the week. |
| Monthly | At the end of the last scheduled time slot of the month. |
