Access your camera from any location around the globe with the Remote Access feature, as long as the camera is connected to the internet.

How to activate Remote Access?

To enable remote access, you must meet the following requirements:

  • Create an account on ATLI Cam+.
  • The camera is connected to a Wi-Fi network with internet access.
  • The camera is turned on.

So, let's start by breaking down the steps right from the beginning.

When you open up the ATLI Cam+ app for the first time and decide to skip the registration process and just use it as a guest, you'll only see the 'camera status' in the camera list. This status lets you know if the camera is ready to connect with the app.

If you sign up for an account, you will see the 'remote status', indicating that remote access is ready for use.

(The presence of the Remote Status' indicates the availability of the remote access feature)

Next, to get that Remote Access feature working, configure the WLAN settings by connecting it to a Wi-Fi with internet access. Once the camera has internet, the remote icon will turn green.

(When the 'Remote Status' turns green, the remote access is good to go)

Even if the camera status goes off, you can still access it remotely without any issues.

Remote Access and Power Saving

Remote access is only accessible when the camera's Wi-Fi is on. It is important to note that Power Saving mode impacts the availability of remote access.

Here's a breakdown of how the power-saving mode can impact the remote access feature.

Power Saving External Power Remote Access Note
Off Yes Yes Recommend
Off No Yes, until the camera dies from low power
Auto Yes Yes Recommend
Auto No Yes, until the camera goes into sleep mode
On Yes Yes, until the camera goes into sleep mode
On No Yes, until the camera goes into sleep mode

During sleep mode, the camera's Wi-Fi is disabled to preserve battery life, resulting in the interruption of remote access.

To ensure continuous Wi-Fi connectivity for remote access, it is recommended to keep the camera connected to a reliable external power supply with Power Saving mode deactivated.

FaQs

1. The remote access was all good, but then it just stopped working out of nowhere. Any idea why it happened?

A: Here's what usually goes down when this situation pops up:

  1. The external power source is cut off, so the camera either goes into sleep mode or power off.
  2. The power source for the Wi-Fi router is cut off, so the Wi-Fi goes down.

Once you get those power issues sorted out, your remote access should go back to working smoothly.

2. The 'Remote Status' is green, but the remote access does not work.

A: Our system updates the Remote Status every 5 minutes, but sometimes there can be a delay. If you encounter an error, just give it about 5 minutes for the server to confirm the status. If you really need to use the camera right away, please try connecting directly to the camera using its Wi-Fi.
