This chapter explains the SIM Data Info feature, which allows you to monitor and manage your device's cellular data consumption directly from the user interface. By setting your data plan limits, you can track usage and avoid unexpected overage charges from your mobile carrier.
This tool is for estimation purposes only. Your carrier's official data usage report is the definitive measure for billing.
Settings
To configure your data monitoring, navigate to Settings > Network > SIM Data Info.
Billing Cycle
This setting defines the frequency at which the data usage counter resets, allowing you to match the structure of your specific data plan.
-
Function: Choose the reset interval that matches your carrier's plan.
-
Options:
-
Monthly: The counter resets on the same day each month. You will need to select a specific day (e.g.,
15
) for the reset. -
Weekly: The counter resets on the same day each week. You will need to select a specific day of the week (e.g.,
Sunday
). -
Daily: The counter resets every day at the specified Reset Time.
-
Pre-paid: This mode is for non-recurring data packages. The data counter does not reset automatically. You must reset it manually, typically when you purchase or "top-up" a new data bundle.
-
Reset Time
This sets the specific time of day that the data counter resets on your selected billing cycle date.
-
Function: Pinpoints the exact moment the new billing period begins.
-
How to set: Enter the time (e.g.,
00:00
for midnight) when your plan officially rolls over.
Max. Data Usage
This is the total amount of data included in your plan for the selected cycle. The device uses this value to track your consumption and can warn you when you're approaching your limit.
-
Function: Establishes the upper limit of your data allowance for the usage period.
-
How to set: Enter the total data allowance for your SIM card (e.g.,
10
GB for a monthly plan,2
GB for a weekly plan, or500
MB for a daily plan).
Est. Data Used
This field shows the approximate amount of cellular data your camera has consumed since the last billing cycle reset.
What it shows: A running total of data used in the current period . This value is calculated by the device itself.
Note: This is an estimate. ±5% discrepancies may exist between this figure and the one reported by your mobile carrier due to differences in measurement timing and methods. Always refer to your carrier for official billing information.
You can manually adjust the counter using the following options:
-
Edit: Allows you to manually input a value for the data used. This is useful for synchronizing the device's counter with your carrier's official usage report, especially if you set up this feature in the middle of a billing cycle.
-
Reset: Immediately sets the data usage counter back to
0
. This function is essential for Pre-paid plans, allowing you to restart the counter each time you purchase a new data bundle.
