What is Direct Wi-Fi Mode?
In Direct Wi-Fi Mode, your mobile device connects directly to the Wi-Fi network created by the camera.
The connection looks like this:
Mobile device → Camera
A router, home Wi-Fi network, or internet connection is not required for the direct connection between your mobile device and the camera.
Direct Wi-Fi Mode is usually the simplest option because there are no additional network devices between your mobile device and the camera.
When should I use Direct Wi-Fi Mode?
Direct Wi-Fi Mode is recommended for:
- First-time setup
- On-site camera configuration
- Checking the live view and framing
- Starting or adjusting a recording
- Viewing or downloading files from the camera
- Locations without an existing Wi-Fi network
- Troubleshooting a WLAN connection
How to connect using Direct Wi-Fi Mode
- Open ATLI Cam+ and select your camera.
- Tap Connect via Direct Wi-Fi Mode.
- When your mobile device asks for permission to join the camera’s Wi-Fi network, tap Join.
- Return to ATLI Cam+ if the app does not reopen automatically.
- Wait for the connection to complete.
The camera’s Wi-Fi network may appear with a name such as:
ATLI-XXXXXXXX
Why does my phone say the camera’s network has no internet?
In Direct Wi-Fi Mode, your phone uses its Wi-Fi connection to communicate directly with the camera. Because the camera’s Wi-Fi network does not provide internet access, your phone cannot use its regular Wi-Fi network at the same time.
What happens next depends on how your phone accesses the internet:
- If cellular data is available and enabled, your phone can continue accessing the internet through its cellular connection.
- If your phone relies on Wi-Fi for internet access, it will temporarily lose internet access while connected to the camera.
This does not indicate a problem with the camera connection. Stay connected to the camera’s Wi-Fi network while using ATLI Cam+. Your phone can reconnect to its regular Wi-Fi network after you finish using the camera.
